Radjabov eliminated Bartel, Nielsen, Bacrot, Smirnov and Dominguez to reach the semi final against Adams. After missing a winning continuation in one of the games he went on to lose 1.5-2.5 and shared third with Topalov. Position after 6. Rxh5 in Radjabov-Bartel:

European Championship 2004

Radjabov was undefeated in the European Championships but scored too many draws to get involved in the fight for the top places. He won two of his thirteen games and drew among others Aronian and Naiditsch.
