Radjabov was sensationally eliminated in this knockout event already in the second round. His only loss in many games with the Schliemann came against the by far lowest rated player he ever tried it against, and Macieja scored an impressive win both in the game and the minimatch.

European Team Championship 2007

Azerbaijan finished third in the event, where Radjabov scored +3 -1 =5. He lost against Morozevich but won a couple of nice games with black: Atalik-Radjabov and Akopian-Radjabov.

Pivdenny Bank Chess Cup 2007

The rapid event in Odessa was won by Ivanchuk, ahead of Grischuk. Radjabov shared third with Shirov after scoring a nice win with the Schliemann in Shirov-Radjabov.

In a very even tournament Radjabov only needed a draw in the last round but suffered one of the quickest losses of his career against Carlsen after an opening experiment that didn’t turn out well.
